LAC’s Batch Plant, located at Palabora Copper mine (PC), comprises of a 100B jaw crusher, two cone crushers, a triple deck screen and a 19mm aggregate washing screen, permitting supply of 19mm and 13mm stone and 6.7mm crusher sand. The batching plant is fully computerised with 2 x 0.5 cubic metre mixers, scraper, aggregate weighing bin, supply conveyor, a fully automated dosing system and a comprehensively equipped lab.
Concrete of all strengths is supplied, as is 90mpa fibre-reinforced concrete, and wet shotcrete.
LAC has supplied all the concrete for the underground project at Palabora Copper (formerly Palabora Mining Company) including the underground headgears, shaft linings and roadway concrete, as well as shotcrete for the walls and concrete for all civils structures. In excess of 250,000 m3 has been poured for this project alone.
In addition, LAC has a second (semi-automated) Batch Plant which also handles mixing of all strengths of concrete. The LAC crushing and screening operation has immense experience and ample capacity for expansion.
